So, a few months ago, Jack was able to kick out one of the bars on his crib. He totally karate chopped it in half! So, I just duck taped it and thought my baby was freakishly strong. Well, my sister Heather called me a couple days ago because she had heard about some cribs being recalled for that same reason...defective paneling. So today, when I finally remembered to check, I had literally just got Jack out of his bed from his nap and picked up his mattress to see the manufacture number. I had to make sure it was one that had been recalled, when seriously I picked it up, the bed just collapsed!!!! I totally freaked out because Jack jumps in his bed... A LOT!! All it would have taken is one more jump and he could have been seriously hurt!!! I am soooooo thankful that wasn't the case. The ironic thing is, his bed was NOT on the recall list!!! However, I got right on the phone with the Consumer Product Safety Administration and with Babies R Us. Still haven't heard from the CPSA, but Babies R Us called me right back and I was able to get a brand new crib. (Well, I had to pay the difference because they priced my crib for only HALF of what it was purchased for!)
Needless to say, we are very, very lucky! But if you have this crib, just keep an eye on it! Two of the three inch screws had come out that connected the back panel and the side so it created a very dangerous situation!
(this crib was bought from babies r us online and is the StorkCraft Rochester model--mine was white, but looked just like this one.)
Just be careful!!!!

WoW Beez, Scary!!! I am so glad Jack wasn't in there. Thanks for the warning. Hope you are feeling better!!! I will have to call you someday to have an actual conversation to find out how you are.
Beez I think that is the crib I have EEEEEKKKK! Hey I voted you would have a boy, I just think you will. sorry if it's not what you want. Let me know right when you find out Im super excited.
Me, you and Jen are so close in weeks of being pregnant. I have loved it, I can consider myself lucky though because I have not been sick, thankfully. Did you hear I am having a boy, we are pumped, thats what we wanted all along. So I am guessing you will have a girl, but who knows. What is your guess, or what are you hoping for? We just got a crib and am working on the nursery. It is so much fun planning for this little guy to come join us. I am so excited for you and your little family. Your family is actually growing quite large in comparison to mine, but I guess it's just timing. Well I hope that you are doing well and that sicknesses are not hitting you hard.
