“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”

This post is long overdue! It is more for my benefit than anything else. But feel free to keep reading. :)

This has been weighing on my mind for quite some time. I feel like we have been blessed so much lately. We have had some wonderful people in our lives who have blessed us with their service. I want to thank all of those people from the bottom of my heart! You don't even know how much we appreciate you in our lives. I swear, every time we have any kind of lesson lately, it's about service. I had a priesthood blessing fairly recently as well, and service was mentioned as well. For us to TRULY come unto Christ, we must serve our fellow men.

President Thomas S. Monson once said,

"On one occasion an inquiring lawyer came to the Savior and asked, “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?” The Savior responded, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

Our lives have been blessed beyond measure. I am so grateful for this gospel. I am grateful for our ward. They truly are family. I am SO grateful for loving parents. Parents that taught me the importance of service and how to give yourself completely to the Lord. I hope and pray I can be that strong in my conviction to teach my children the importance of service.

President Monson also said,

"When we serve our God, when we love Him, He knows it, and He will take us by the hand and give us answers to our prayers.

“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

Who is my neighbor? Someone asked that question, then answered it: “I don’t know his name, but his dog tramples down my flowers. His boy honks the horn and keeps me awake at night, and his children make so much noise I can’t enjoy life. But yesterday I noticed some black crepe at his window, and I knew that someone had passed away. I decided it was time I became acquainted with my neighbor.”

Let us not wait for that type of event before we become acquainted with our neighbor and show love for him or for her."

I want to take this opportunity to share my love of the gospel. I have always had a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I am so blessed by it. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I encourage all to read it daily. I am so thankful for the loving, tender mercies of my Heavenly Father and my savior Jesus Christ. I am thankful for a wonderful ward family and our bishopric. They are so amazing. I love them very much. I know it sounds kinda odd, but I am SO thankful for all my trials. For I have learned so much and they have only brought me closer to Him. I am so thankful for my loving husband. He would move heaven and earth for me and our children. I am thankful for him living his life in harmony with the gospel, that he can be a worthy priesthood holder. I am SO thankful for the many, many, many priesthood blessings he has given me and our children. I am thankful that Heavenly Father has blessed our lives with 3 BEAUTIFUL angels. I hope that I am doing all He expects of me to raise them, and help them along their journey of mortality. I pray I can live my life to be worthy of them calling me mommy. I know they were saved for this time for a specific purpose. They will do great things. Despite their trials they have already had to endure, and will continue to endure. They are PERFECT in Gods eyes. In my eyes. I look forward to the day when we can be together as a family forever. And they will be made WHOLE! I say these things in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
