Wow! I can't believe that this is the most recent picture I have of the three of them together!! But here are my autism angels! Tyla who is now age 7 (diagnosed at age 4), Jack who is now age 5 (diagnosed at 22 months) and Joseph "Joe" now age 3 1/2 yr old (diagnosed 2 days after his 3rd bday). Anywhoo...April is Autism Awareness month! Seriously, it seems like it was just April and we were talking about it. It is even more prevalent now than last year!!! Today the stats are 1 out of 88 children are being diagnosed!! It's crazy!
Autism really does run our lives. It doesn't "ruin" our lives but it definitely RUNS our lives!! We have therapies and/or school every single day except for Fridays. And that's just the boys! Tyla's are all done at her mom's! We are busy, busy, busy! But it's made such an impact on them, it's worth every minute!! Because of early and intense intervention, Jack is able to attend typical Kindergarten!!! It has been a LOT of hard work (mostly on his part) but I am so grateful that we were able to help him so early on!!
Again, I will try and post more about autism as the month goes on. But, like I said, we are busy!! But I LOVE educating people about it and helping in any way that I can!! So PLEASE feel free to ask me ANYTHING!!!
