Happy Birthday Papa!

Tomorrow is my dad's birthday. I wanted to post something today, "just in case" cause tomorrow is more than likely to get too crazy!! As you can see, he is ABSOLUTELY adored by his grandchildren!! They just think he is the WORLD!! Jack and Tyla haven't been able to see him since June, yet they still ask to see him on a daily basis. Jack even remembers the "exit" from the freeway to their old house. And when we get off, he says, "Papa's house" Crazy memory that kid has!! Tyla carries around the birthday and Christmas cards Papa sent her all the time. In fact she even sleeps with them!
I love my dad so much! I wished like crazy that he was here with us!!! But he's not. Not yet. Someday.
I love this pic because it is SOOOO my dad!! ALWAYS giving until there is NOTHING left to give!!!!! He is THE most selfless man I have EVER met my entire life!! He has the BIGGEST heart of anyone in the world!! He is such an example to me and I can't WAIT till I can see him again!!!

This was Lexi's baptism and he was feeding Jack and Karson cake. Yes, cake! I know, Jack doesn't eat "cake" but he did that day from Papa.
Our sealing day!!! Jack and Papa have ALWAYS had such a special bond. I don't know what it is, but from the day he was born, they were always joined at the hip!! That's why I was having such a hard time with having to do all this EEG stuff with out my dad. He always made everything better!! Just by being there. I remember when Jack was sick in the hospital at 7 weeks old, my dad came down there to stay with me so I could get some sleep. Matt had to work, and I was SO exhausted. So my dad just sat there holding him all night long!!!

I miss my dad so much it hurts my heart!! I know our family is going to blessed for all that we have had to endure this last year, and my dad has been the BEST example to me on remembering the Lord through our trials. To make sure we include Him in EVERYTHING!! That's why Matt and I have made some really important goals this year.

We are having FHE EVERY Sunday night before we take Tyla home. Actually, this was easier than I thought it was going to be. And it's cute that her and Jack get so excited for it!! Last week Matt gave ALL of us blessings cause we knew it was going to be a hard week with Jack in the hospital and such...They all got a turn to sit in the "chair" and I couldn't believe how well they both just sat there and let Matt put his hands on their heads! It was VERY tender. The spirit has been so strong in our house since we started this little goal. It's nice too, because we pray for Tyla while she is away from our home and at school for the week to be safe and happy and she always just gets her little grin when we say this. I LOVE IT!!

Anyway, Happy Birthday Papa!! We love you and miss you more than words can say!!!! Thank you for being such an example to me and my kids. One day, hopefully sooner than later, we can all be together again!!!

Happy Birthday!!
